Spotlighted Business of the Month
Kearney Area Children’s Museum
KEARNEY – The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Business Committee would like to recognize KidZone – Kearney Area Children’s Museum as our Spotlighted Business of the Month.
“KidZone’s primary mission is to enhance the Central Nebraska community by providing a unique and fun educational resource for our youth and their families,” said Tara Knuth, Executive Director.
On Tuesday, April 19, the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Business Committee presented Knuth with a plaque of recognition for her service to the Kearney area. Over 40,000 children and adults have visited the museum since its grand opening in May 2010. 912 families and care givers are members, residing all over Central Nebraska, including Callaway, Grand Island, Holdrege, Wilcox and many others.
“The Children’s Museum is a vital part of our community because it provides families an opportunity to bond without limitations, promotes active learning, encourages children to explore and learn at their own pace, creates a sense of community, and it’s FUN,” Knuth added.
KidZone hosts monthly events including day camps and Free Family Fun Nights, as well as annual events like Halloween parties and Breakfast with Santa. KidZone also partnerships within the community, including the most recent partnership with Kearney Public Schools PAWS Program.
