Committees Work!

Published: Wednesday, December 21, 2016

According to Wikipedia, "a committee is a body of one or more persons that is subordinate to a deliberative assembly. Usually, the assembly sends matters into a committee as a way to explore them more fully than would be possible if the assembly itself were considering them. Committees may have different functions and the type of work that each committee does would depend on the type of organization and its needs."

Proud of our Chamber Team

Published: Monday, October 10, 2016

Prior to starting with the Kearney Chamber, the Chamber Board of Directors explained that we have an excellent staff that really love their job and care about the Kearney Community. This past weekend, I witnessed and would like to showcase the level of commitment and compassion of our Chamber team.  On October 1st, The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce held our third annual Oktoberfest.  The event can be classified as a great success but what I feel is most impressive is what occurred behind the scenes.

Being able to communicate effectively is the most important of all life skills.

Published: Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place to another, whether this be vocally (using voice), written (using printed or digital media such as books, magazines, websites or emails), visually (using logos, maps, charts or graphs) or non-verbally (using body language, gestures and the tone and pitch of voice).

How well this information can be transmitted and received is a measure of how good our communication skills are.
