COLONELS CLUB

Vice Chair: Scott Bazata, Bazata Wealth Management
Meeting Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

The Colonels Club is a men's group whose purpose is to serve as a public relations arm of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Colonels Club does this is by supporting the "Doing Business" award, attending and promoting ribbon cuttings, grand openings, Business After Hours, Gateway Farm Expo, the KACC Annual Meeting and the Kearney Golf Classic and by working on membership recruitment and retention.

Colonels are limited to one Colonel per business and 50 members. This group does have a small annual fee. To inquire about joining the Colonels, contact Shanna Schulte at sschulte@kearneycoc.org.

ENVOYS

Chair: Renae Zimmer, Five Nines Technology Group
Vice Chair: Rita Uldrich, Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center
Meeting Schedule: 1st Tuesday of each month, rotating times

Envoys is a women's group whose purpose is to serve as a public relations arm of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.

Envoys does this is by hosting a membership mixer, attending and promoting ribbon cuttings, grand openings, Business After Hours, Gateway Farm Expo, the KACC Annual Meeting, Friend and Youth Friend of Kearney and the Buffalo County Fair, and by working on membership recruitment and retention.

Envoys are limited to one Envoy per business, but not limited on maximum members. This group does have a small annual fee. To inquire about joining the Envoy group, contact Shanna Schulte at sschulte@kearneycoc.org.

Young Professional Network

Chair: JoAnn Andersen, City of Kearney
Vice Chair: Savannah Lyon, Compass
Meeting Schedule: 1st Friday of each month & visit the "EVENTS" page for more information and an updated meeting schedule. 

The Young Professional Network (YPN) exists to empower future community leaders through personal and professional development, personal growth, community involvement and networking opportunities.

This group is limited to younger professionals in the area. To be involved in YPN you must be employed by a Chamber member or join the Chamber as an individual. There is an annual membership fee to join.

AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE

Chair: Andy Wichelt, Contryman Associates PC
Vice Chair: Hope James, Farm Credit Services of America
Meeting Schedule: 3rd Thursday, every other month, at noon

The Agriculture Committee's purpose is to provide and support programs which promote agriculture and encourage urban/rural cooperation.

Some of the programs the Agriculture Committee is currently tied to are the Nebraska Cattlemen's Classic, Gateway Farm Expo, Buffalo County 4-H, Nebraska Livestock Judging Classic as well as educational meetings.

BUSINESS & Education COmmittee

Meeting Schedule: 1st Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

The Business & Education Committee's purpose is to advance opportunities for small business, promote diversity, and educate members about current trends and technologies. This group will also work to connect students with business and educational opportunities to equip and develop future leaders. This group also assists with the Junior Achievement program.

SPORT AND RECREATION COMMITTEE

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.

The Sport and Recreation Committee's purpose is to contribute to the economic well-being of the area by promoting Kearney as a greater Nebraska Sports Center emphasizing athletic events, recreational facilities and attractions. The Sport and Recreation Committee does this by developing proposals that bring additional athletic events to Kearney, helping with events the Kearney Visitors Bureau brings to the Kearney Area, assisting with athletic organizations and hosting the kick-off luncheon for Kearney High, Kearney Catholic and UNK students.

KEARNEY HOSPITALITY GROUP

Chair: Lizzie Wheatley, Hilltop Mall

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Thursday of each month at Noon

The Kearney Hospitality Group's purpose is to increase the number of visitors to Kearney by marketing retail and tourism opportunities for conventions, festivals and special events.

The Kearney Hospitality Group does this by assisting other Chamber Committees with facilitating marketing communication of the Kearney area and providing input to the Kearney Visitor’s Bureau.

LEADS GROUP

Chair: Marty Madden, Exchange Bank
Vice Chair: Krista Cullen, McMeen Physical Therapy
Meeting Schedule: 2nd & 4th Thursday

The LEADS Groups purpose is to create a close-nit networking group of professionals in the area with the purpose of creating increased business and revenue.

The group is mainly for professionals that rely on referrals (or leads). There is only one individual from any particular industry in each group so there is no overlapping.

The group meets bi-weekly and gets to know each other and each other's services very well with the intention being that any given individual in the group would feel comfortably referring a client, friend or family member to any other given individual in the group. There can be as many LEADS Groups as needed at the Kearney Chamber. We currently have two. To inquire about joining a LEADS Group, contact Brianna Gentert at bgentert@kearneycoc.org.

 

Shop Kearney Retail Committee

Meeting Schedule: 4th Wednesday, 8am

The purpose of the Shop Kearney Retail Committee is to build a stronger bond between retailers; work to create a stronger retail environment by growing the number of retailers in the Kearney area, as well as retaining our current retailers; inform of emerging retail trends and ideas; and educate the public about the economic benefits of shopping and buying locally.

TRANSPORTATION TASK FORCE

The Transportation Task Force's purpose is to make the Kearney Chamber aware of any issues with transportation in the area.

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to monitor and initiate appropriate action on legislative matter which may impact the Kearney Area. The Legislative Committee does this by keeping chamber members aware of local, state and national political issues.This committee is open to all Kearney Chamber Members.

SENIOR COALITION

The purpose of the Senior Coalition is to offer monthly community education to the retired community.
