Jan Rodehorst joined the Chamber staff as Membership & Business Development Director in December of 2008. Rodehorst was appointed Executive Director in September of 2009. A past member of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Envoy, and Chair of the Small Business Committee. Rodehorst’s career background includes; business ownership, sales, corporate training, marketing and human resources. She has a Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Josh Jelden, Membership Director

Born in Minden, Nebraska Josh Jelden attended high school in Axtell where he graduated in 1999. He earned his bachelors degree in broadcasting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004 and embarked on a career as a television sportscaster. After a brief stop in Kansas City, he returned home to anchor the nightly sportscasts at NTV where he served as sports director for nearly 5 years. In late October of 2009, Josh was hired on as the Director of Business Development and Membership with the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce. Josh enjoys visiting with existing Chamber members as well as recruiting new businesses into the organization and often brags to his co-workers that he has the most fun job on staff.

Jennie Nollette, Event Director

Jennie Nollette attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and received a degree in Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management with minors in Business Administration and Leadership. After graduation she moved to Kearney and worked at the Best Western Mid Nebraska Inn & Suites until starting at the Chamber on February 1, 2010. Jennie’s husband Brent Nollette also graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and is an Agricultural and shop teacher at Amherst High School.

Leslie Means, Program Director

Leslie Means comes to the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce after working over 6 years as a television journalist; the last five years at NTV as an anchor/co-host. Leslie, a Blue Hill, Nebraska native, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in broadcast journalism. While at the University, she worked for HuskerVision, a division of the University of Nebraska athletic department. She is also a published author. Her first children’s book, Ella B. Bella and the Magic Pink Shoes was published and released in May, 2010. She also has a short story published in Amber Waves of Grain; Third In The Series Of Stories About Growing Up In And Around Small Towns In The Midwest. Leslie resides in Kearney with her husband Kyle, and their daughters Ella and Grace.

Sharon Almquist, Financial Coordinator

Sharon Almquist is the Financial Coordinator at the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for all of the accounting for the Chamber, Gateway and Visitors Bureau. When Sharon first started at the Chamber, she was the Information Specialist and later that year was promoted to Financial Coordinator. She graduated from Kearney State College with a Business Administration degree and an emphasis in Accounting. Her children are, Ryan and Isaac, Sarah, and son-in-law, Gordon, and she is married to Russell Almquist. In her spare time, she enjoys going to her son’s school activities and volunteering at church and other organizations.
