The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce will convene community leaders to

strategically assess workforce development initiatives.

Recruiting and retaining talent is vital in keeping our Kearney area economy thriving. From addressing the need for a robust talent pipeline to advocating for state and local policies that support our working families, we make sure that we are always first to the table. We are actively working with public, private, and nonprofit partners to ensure that the area's workforce preparation system is responsive to the needs of both employers and job seekers. This includes engaging with industry and education providers to create and shape college and career pathways as well as curriculum.

Despite Kearney's unemployment rate sitting under 1%, the need for workforce persists. More specifically, we need more certified and trained specialty workers with a lifelong learning mentality as well as more high school and four-year college graduates to stay in the area.
