SENIOR COALITION MEETS AT CENTRAL MERCANTILE FEATURING KTOWN CAKERY

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

The Senior Coalition satisfied their sweet tooth when they ventured over to Central Mercantile featuring Ktown Cakery on January 25th. Owner of Ktown Cakery, Kari Printz, gave our group a tour of the bakery where they bake, decorate, and store all of their delicious pastries and desserts. She also shared information about the unique kitchen wares of Central Mercantile. Their goal is to carry items you can’t find anywhere else in Kearney. The selection included specialty knives, spices, sauces, a variety of flavored whipped honey, detailed cutting boards, kitchen appliances, and so much more! We learned that the building is a three-story structure which includes the basement for storage, the ground level store front, and the upstairs which is leased out to Crane River theater for rehearsals. Kari says she enjoys the summertime when she can sit at the tables in the bakery and listen to the talent coming from up above. A new table area in the back, complete with a sink, oven, and storage, provides room for future classes, and the large seating area in front of the bakery allowed the group to enjoy treats provided by Ktown Cakery. Head over to Central Mercantile featuring Ktown Cakery at 2206 Central Avenue to stock up on kitchen tools and add some sweetness to your day!
