LK/YLK Letter from the President 2019 - 2020

We have had three successful months of session days for Leadership Kearney Class #29 and Youth Leadership Kearney Class #26. Thank you for your continued involvement and support of this program. As alum, I think we can all agree that Leadership Kearney is a wonderful organization for us as individuals and professionals and for our community. The on-going support and success of the program is a true testament to the founders for setting the course.

As Board President, I am excited about the growth and continued success of both Leadership Kearney programs. Our Board has been working hard on streamlining communication between each class year, setting up a file management system that will be accessible for each new class and board members, and updating our By-Laws and Standard Operating Procedures. All files are now sorted and saved in a Google Drive system that can be shared with individuals who need access to the files. This also includes an entire folder system for Board members which helps streamline committee tasks, provides direct access to the By-Laws and Standard Operating Procedures, and helps the Board stay on task with the budget and goals for the year.

It’s also that time of year to send in your Alumni dues. These dues go towards the cost of alumni events such as the Business After Hours and sponsored leadership events like the partial tuition coverage for the Global Leadership Summit this past August. Our Board is very determined to continue finding opportunities for alumni socials and leadership educational events. If you have any ideas about possible alumni or leadership events, please send them our way!

I want to thank everyone who attended and/or supported the Leadership Kearney Annual Golf Tournament. We raised $6,000 dollars this year which goes directly towards our scholarship program! Thank you all again for everything you do to support and promote Leadership Kearney. The Board and I will continue to do our best to make sound decisions that are in the best interest of the programs.
