Buffalo Ridge Golf Course, a Kearney landmark since 1966, underwent a major transformation two years ago thanks to a dedicated group of investors led by Ed Wiltgen and Bill Seibert.
Following their purchase of the course, which had fallen into disrepair, Wiltgen, Seibert, and their team devoted countless hours to restoring it. They rebuilt the greens, repainted the clubhouse, repaired equipment, and cleared out overgrown trees—bringing visibility and playability back to the course. They also hired experienced groundskeepers and focused on preserving the original layout while making small enhancements. Within just a few months, Buffalo Ridge reopened to a warm reception, with returning golfers and neighborhood patrons praising its revival. Their goal was simple: bring the course back to life—and they did just that.
On June 10th, in recognition of their long-standing commitment to the community, the Chamber’s Colonels Group presented the course with an award celebrating 20 years of Chamber membership. The Chamber's Senior Coalition group also visited the course on June 24th to see the exciting improvements firsthand.
Buffalo Ridge Golf Course has become a local hotspot for fun, food, and community events. Every Thursday night from 6–9 PM, they host their popular Beer & Burger Night, serving up delicious burgers, fries, and drinks at a great price. In addition to the weekly food special, Buffalo Ridge keeps the energy high with events like Glow Golf tournaments and lively Karaoke nights. It’s also a fantastic venue to celebrate special occasions, offering facility rentals for birthdays, reunions, company outings, and more. Whether you're stopping by for dinner or planning your next event, Buffalo Ridge offers a welcoming and entertaining atmosphere for all.
