COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

"Democracy is not a spectator sport. We stand up for what we believe in and we are willing to advocate for what's right, so our businesses can grow and our community can thrive. "

We want to let your voice be heard. Our ADVOCACY pillar focuses on advocating on behalf of the Kearney area business community and educates business leaders about public policy issues relevant to their business. By working together with local public agencies we can send the message that the Kearney area business community is active, engaged, and passionate about making our region a place where business thrives. One way we promote this movement is through different advocacy events.

Community Connections is a roundtable discussion with elected officials from Kearney City Council, Buffalo County Commissioners, and the Kearney Public School Board. Members of the Chamber and Community could attend each of these meetings separately, which would take an average of three hours or more in person or they could attend Community Connections and get a full update from all three offices in one hour. Community Connections is typically the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 AM and is held at the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce board room or is available via the Chamber's Facebook page live. This monthly event is sponsored by NorthWestern Energy.
