Ag Scholarship

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee Scholarship awards two scholarships each year to graduating seniors from Buffalo and Kearney Counties who plan to pursue a degree in an agriculture-related field. Recipients are selected based on their character, educational and career aspirations, and their vision for the future of agriculture. Through this scholarship, the Ag Committee proudly supports students who are preparing to become the next generation of leaders in one of our region's most vital industries.

Bruce Blankenship Leadership in Business Scholarship

The Bruce Blankenship Leadership in Business Scholarship awards one scholarship each year to a Buffalo County student pursuing a degree in a business-related field at a Nebraska college, university, technical, or vocational school. Named in honor of Bruce Blankenship's commitment to leadership and community involvement, the scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong character, clear educational and career goals, and the potential to make a positive impact in the business world. Through this award, the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce invests in the development of future business leaders who will help shape the success of our region and beyond.

Friends of Law Enforcement Scholarship

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Friends of Law Enforcement Scholarship awards one scholarship each year to a Buffalo County student pursuing a degree in a law enforcement-related field. Applicants are selected based on their character, educational and career aspirations, and their commitment to serving and supporting law enforcement through essays and letters of recommendation. This scholarship reflects the Friends of Law Enforcement Committee’s dedication to encouraging future professionals who are inspired to protect, serve, and strengthen their communities.

Mark Benjamin Building Opportunity Scholarship

The Mark Benjamin Building Opportunity Scholarship awards one scholarship each year to a Buffalo County student pursuing a degree in the construction industry. Named in honor of Mark Benjamin’s commitment to building and community development, this scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong character, clear career goals, and a passion for the skilled trades and construction field. Through this award, the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce supports the next generation of professionals who will help build and strengthen our communities for years to come.

Student Leader Scholarships

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Student Leader Scholarships recognize two outstanding Buffalo County students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential. One scholarship is awarded to a student attending Central Community College, and one to a student attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Recipients are selected based on an essay reflecting on the qualities of a leader, highlighting their ability to inspire others, serve their community, and make a positive impact in the future. Through these scholarships, the Chamber invests in the next generation of leaders who will help shape the success of our region.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Kearney Area Community Foundation for their partnership in administering these scholarships. From coordinating applications and communicating with students to supporting the selection process, the Foundation serves as an invaluable resource and connection between scholarship sponsors and recipients.
