A Special Recipe for Success-Sprockets Style!

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

You’ve probably seen his cart sitting on the corner of 23rd and 2nd Avenue any given night of the week, peddling hot dogs to a long line of patrons; Sprockets Famous Freedom Dogs has a cult following of fans that are there to support him rain or shine. Him, being Patrick McClure, is the one man show behind Sprockets and he has a love for hot dogs that shines through his products. When asked about his most popular topping, he said coney sauce, which is his own special recipe. He said his coney sauce was the difference maker in his business when he first launched. Among other special recipes are his coleslaw dressing, the way he prepares his dogs, and his fry sauce which everyone loves! If hot dogs aren’t your thing, he also offers brats and polish sausage with all the same locally sourced, delicious toppings.

Sprockets Famous Freedom Dogs opened for business in 2013 as a small hot dog cart which was built by Patrick’s family member. This family member is previous military police so when naming the business came about, Patrick knew he wanted to add in the Freedom as a salute to all forms of military and police to show his thankfulness for everything they do. He has worked hard to build a great business that his family and children could be proud of and it shows in his Facebook rating of 4.9 stars! When asked to describe his business he proudly stated “the highest rated hot dog joint in Nebraska! 4.9 stars!”

In case you were wondering why we are sharing all this info, we are gearing up for Oktoberfest and will be sharing the background of each of our breweries and food vendors attending. Patrick and his Sprockets Famous Freedom Dogs will be a food vendor at this year’s event for the very first time. He is excited to attend because it is a great opportunity to share his business with even more local people who haven’t heard of his business, while also showing support for the local Chamber.
