Meet the Neighbors

Brought to you by Bridges Senior Living Advisors, Custer Federal State Bank, and EZ Kitchens.

Beth and Mark Stecker have built a life in the Kearney Area over the past 19 years, and it’s clear that this community holds a special place in their hearts. Married for nearly two decades, the couple has found both personal and professional fulfillment here. Beth founded Bridges Senior Living Advisors in 2019 to help seniors and their families find the right care. She expanded the business to the Kearney Area three years ago. Mark, meanwhile, manages the Farmers Cooperative in Poline, NE, a role he’s taken on since February 2024.

Why the Kearney Area?

For Beth and Mark, the Kearney Area isn’t just where they work, it’s where they belong. “I started my business here because there was a real need for senior services,” Beth explains. “When Mark’s job brought us here, we knew it was the place to be.” They’ve built strong professional ties and personal connections with the community over the years.

Favorite Spots Around Town

The Steckers love exploring the Kearney Area. Their favorite restaurant? Cunningham's on the Lake. “It’s the perfect spot for a great meal and gorgeous views,” Beth says. For fun, Beth enjoys pickleball at the fairgrounds and the local downtown boutiques and coffee shops. “There’s something about those small, local gems that feels like home,” she shares.

Getting Involved

The Steckers are all about giving back to their community. Beth stays involved through the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, making valuable business connections. She also loves meeting new people by playing pickleball. Mark’s role at the Farmers Cooperative keeps him connected to the agricultural side of the Kearney Area and its people.

What Makes the Kearney Area Special?

For the Steckers, it’s the friendly, welcoming nature of the community. “The people here are incredibly friendly, and it really does feel like home,” Beth says. Whether it's the variety of family-friendly events or the endless outdoor activities, the Kearney Area offers something for everyone. In one word, Beth sums it up as business-friendly. “There are so many opportunities here, and the support from the community is incredible,” she explains.

Final Thoughts

Beth and Mark’s journey in the Kearney Area is a true reflection of what makes this place so special: a strong sense of community, opportunities to grow, and a welcoming environment for families. They’ve found more than just a place to live, they’ve found a community.
